what now

what now

July 2012.

This little bird has been set free from The Agency. I should be really happy that “the journey” as they call it, is over. Yet I can’t help but feel that there is something more. This cannot be it. Cancer free? How do we know for sure?

I’m starting to realize that I know very little when it comes to health and wellness. I’m the girl who literally thinks that whole wheat Triscuits are considered eating healthy. I cannot be more lost or out of my element. I contacted a friend and colleague who is a Naturopathic Doctor for advice. The only real experience that I’ve in this area is when my grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at 69. It’s the most aggressive form of cancer there is and is untreatable. She was sent home to die and told that she had less than six months to live. No treatment, no options. In 1997, homeopathic doctors were considered witch doctors, but with no other options available to her, our family took our beloved Nan to see one. He prescribed a number of concoctions that she took dutifully every day. Needless to say, she thrived on these treatments for quite awhile. Eventually she succumbed to cancer but survived for two years past her initial diagnosis. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that there is something to this homeopathic thing. My friend referred me on to another ND who specializes in cancer patients – Dr. Sanjay Mohan Ram. I didn’t realize it at the time, but this meeting would change the course of my life and my views on medicine.

I make my appointment with Dr. Sanjay and head over to meet with him. I instantly feel a connection to him and for the first time since I found out that I have cancer, I am getting a YES feeling. Dr. Sanjay explains how he can help me, and at the same time, I don’t get the feeling that he is trying to push me to do too many things at once. He has a gentle soul with a very calm demeanour. No fear, no panic.

We are going to start with high doses of Vitamin C, administered through IV, and Mistletoe injections. Dr. Sanjay explains that the Vitamin C is like a Trojan Horse. It tricks the cancer cells into absorbing it and then kills them from the inside out. The cancer cells die from oxidative stress. Linus Pauling, a two time Nobel Prize winner, collaborated on a study proving that ten grams of Vitamin C, administered through IV, could extend the life of advanced cancer patients by four times. For more information on Vitamin C, have a look at The Truth about Cancer - Vitamin C Therapy.

Mistletoe extracts have been shown to kill cancer cells while stimulating immune cells that help the body to fight cancer. I am starting to see a pattern with these natural remedies. They are administered to help build the immune system so that it is able to recognize and destroy those nasty cancer cells. The best part about starting this protocol is that there are no unbearable side effects when taking these therapies.

I have to admit that I am pretty ignorant when it comes to researching and understanding all of the treatments that are coming my way. I’m a “leap of faith” kind of girl. I go with my gut, which generally takes me in the right direction. I’ve made a few missteps along the way, and my intuition did warn me during those times, but I chose to ignore it. Meeting Dr. Sanjay has given me back a little bit of my power. I am back in control, moving forward and ready to take care of my little friend once and for all.

As I leave the clinic, Dr. Sanjay's receptionist, Melissa, asks me if I have heard about Kelly’s Clinic. I have not. She advises me to check it out online. Again, a few words spoken that will change my life forever.
